My Story

Last November, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. It was a shocking and frightening moment, but I am grateful that it was detected early. Early detection is a powerful tool in this fight, and I’m lucky to have been in a position where treatment options were available and aggressive and positive outcomes were possible. Breast cancer has also deeply affected my family. My Aunt Terri battled breast cancer. She fought with such strength. We miss her dearly.

My best friend, Kimmie, asked me to join her and her team in the Pledge the Pink 30-mile walk to raise money for breast cancer research. When she asked if I wanted to walk this year, I had just completed my second mammogram and was staring down a biopsy. The importance of this cause really hit home.

Did you know that $100 funds a mammogram? Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to a future where breast cancer can be detected early and treated effectively. Your support means the world to me and to countless others who are fighting this battle.
