My Story
Year 2 of participating in this event. I am walking again with the New Kids in the Flock. We will walk 30 miles over 3 days on Amelia Island, FL. Fenway is helping me train! This event rivals the many cancer awareness events in my history of raising money for this fight.
Cancer has touched my life in many ways, as it has for so many of us. It is a horrible disease. I am joining this fun fundraising event in memory of my father, cousins, and friends who fought the good fight and in honor of my mother, cousins, and friends who beat and survived to tell the story.
For background on this event, Pledge the Pink started as a small, local, charity walk—aimed at fighting cancer in South Carolina, It has grown significantly over the past 13 years. PTP has raised over $2,000,000. Through the sister charity, Pledge the Pink Foundation (formally known as Carolina Cups), these dollars provide gap funding for heroic, budget-restricted, nonprofit service providers around the country.
