My Story

I’m joining Wendy and “Sharon’s Flock Rocks” for a second time.
This year we will do our walks on Amelia Island (Florida).

Our team will walk in memory of Sharon, our fun and flamingo-loving fighter who we’re named after. I walk in memory of Darlene (mom/grandma/mother-in-law) and her brother’s wife Aunt Eileen; also in memory of my son-in-law’s grandmother.

I walk in honor of those who have survivived – and this year one of my favorite survivors will join me on this walk.

I walk for those in the middle of their cancer journey.

Most importantly, we (me and 1499 fellow “flockstarts”) walk to raise money to find a cure for this terrible disease. We long for the day no one ever has to lose a loved one to cancer again.
