My Story

In honor of being 17 years cancer-free I am taking advantage of my retired footloose status to raise money to support breast cancer patients, families, and facilities. I’ll be joining several friends who are also fundraising for the charity Pledge the Pink Foundation (formally known as Carolina Cups). We’ll be fundraising from now until our 3-day walking event in October ’26. We’ll be meeting on Oak Island and walking 10 miles per day together for 3 consecutive days among a trove of other Pledge the Pink philanthropic flamingos. I would really appreciate your monetary and support to meet my fundraising goal of $1,000 and your moral support to energize my tired feet! Will you please kindly donate to this worthy cause, whether it be in honor of a current breast cancer fighter, a survivor, or a tribute to a loved who wasn’t able to out walk this insidious disease?
