My Story
In 1999, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. This year brings us much joy celebrating her as a 25 year breast cancer survivor!!!! What a blessing that is!!
More emotional challenges as my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. And one of my best friends was diagnosed in 2020, again in 2022.
And Nov 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer!!!
In honor of 25 more years of blessings with Mom…and in honor of my beautiful sister, Robin… and in honor of my dear friend, Katrina…and now adding myself…I am participating in the Pledge the Pink event, Oct 17-20 in Amelia Island walking 10+ miles a day for 3 days. I get so excited for these weekends, I can’t stand it!!
My Flock ROCKS!!!! I’m going to be surrounded by Flockstars!!
Flamingos and their Flocks of Love … HUGE at Pledge for Pink.
Guinness Book record actually! Best part…each Flamingo represents one free mammogram for someone in need!!!
Each year, more and more Flamingos are added and the flock grows. I’m thrilled to be able to help the Flocks of Love continue to grow, funding more mammograms, saving more lives. And YOU can help me. For every $100 raised, a Flamingo gets placed in the flock. Each bird=1 free mammogram!!! And each bird gets love notes and dressed up!!! YOU send me the message you’d like the Flamingo to hold. YOU can also tell me how you want your bird dressed. Remember, it’s a party Flamingo, not a chicken sandwich. Prefer to donate less than $100, no problem! I can combine donations to get that bird! And you can still send me the name of someone special you’d like represented on a Flamingo!
