My Story

In the 23 years since my breast cancer diagnosis, I’ve seen my children grow into adulthood and marry wonderful partners, become a grandmother, and enjoyed a retirement full of friends, good deeds and adventures both large and small.

I am so grateful that my cancer was detected early and treated successfully. I have been able to share my story and give hope to others – to tell them that my breast cancer journey is and always will be a part of my story, albeit a small part, and that it doesn’t define me. Not everyone is this lucky. This is why raising money to support research and patients is so important.

Pledge the Pink has raised nearly $5 million for heroic, budget-restricted non-profit service providers. It has also brought together thousands of folks for a weekend of camaraderie, empowerment and -oh yeah – walking. My goal is to raise $1,000. If my team raises $5,000, we will get to earmark 75% of it to the organization of our choice.
